# Golden Gate Claude

**Golden Gate Claude** was a public research demo by [Anthropic](/anthropic) that took place on May 23, 2024. During this 24-hour period, [Claude.ai](/surfaces/claude-dot-ai) users could interact with a [Claude 3 Sonnet](/models/claude-sonnet-3) model that had the "golden gate bridge" feature steered up.[^announcement]

## Legacy

Anthropic opened limited access to a [Steering API](/anthropic/steering-api) that allowed steering a subset of Sonnet 3's internal features. It was available from June 2024 through 2025.
